Lights, Camera, Action!🎬

Hello! Before I get too involved here, I want to give a little background. Yes, yes, I know. More boing dialogue. Well my lovely readers, how will you know what's going on without a backstory? So without further adieu, let's get started.

When was just a little girl, watching Barney (remember, this was the early 90's). I always wanted to be on the show as an actress. Now, I've been "performing" in front of people since I was 2 years old. I used to dance (Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and some Gymnastics). With this, I was on stage dressed up 2-3 times a year for recitals (performances). So that was nothing new.

Now, as I got older I ended up with low self-esteem, depression, the works. Trust me I won't bore you with the details. At this time I had moved to Maryland and started Middle School. Some very helpful people within the school decided to try something, they told me to try acting. The school had a Boys and Girls Club, and better yet, a theater club. The director of BGC, was also the theater club director. She saw potential, and pushed me hard! I thank her all the time!

My passion grew, I wanted to be an actress! I worked hard, studied different styles, honed and imitated different actors to create a new style. My style! Along with low self-esteem, and all of that, I grew to hate how I looked. And how I felt like I couldn't fix it. I felt like I could never be on screen, ever! Add to the fact my mom would tell me stories of people who would pursue the acting path and die of starvation because they couldn't find work. That's when I started to think about Voice Acting. Always have jobs, don't need to be seen, and yet still acting. Can we say win-win?! Yes, we can!

Fast forward to 2019, Hubby's brother, calls up and says he's doing a radio-like show (with light visuals) and wants us in it. Sign me up! Oh, did I mention it's a Batman show? No? Oh, well it's a Batman show! Now, my Brother-In-Law came up with the show idea, wrote the show, directed the show, AND still acts in it! Ok, fun fact time, my Brother-In-Law, at conventions dresses up as the Joker and does pictures, and small skits for people. Ok back to this. Now we are getting to the core reason for this page. So like with all acting gigs, we all had to try out. I gunned for only 1 character. My favorite DC villain, well I guess you could say Villainess in this case. Poison Ivy! She was everything I wasn't growing up, smart, beautiful, a redhead. So I was more than happy to try out. I ended up walking out with 2 parts. One was Ivy (luckily I was the only one who tried out for her), and ironically Catwoman. Other parts came later, and we had an actor drop out and give up their part. On request of my BIL, I tried out and got that part too. I'll leave this one a secret. If you really want to know, you need to watch the show! Don't worry I'll leave you a link.

And with that Cursed Souls Radio was born! Website and all! Yes, that link works. So I think I have taken up enough of your time with boring details. I hear ya, "Thank goodness." right? Yes, yes. I'm done. I'm not going to keep you amazing people any longer.

Thank you for listening to this, from now on, the posts on this page are going to be shorter. Just wanted to give you some background on me and why it's important to me. I am proud to say this, we are still working on the show, we are still adding more seasons, we are all proud of our work, and we are all happy to share with you!

Oh and if you are wondering, yes my Hubby did get a part in the show too. Han is trying out for next season, so we are going to be an acting family as well as a geeky one. 😜
